Palm Beach Inlet is one of the safest inlets in Florida for boaters to navigate. The "drop"- a common term in South Florida refers to the drop off in the continental self which occurs at 120 feet of water is less than 2 miles from shore. From 75 feet to 200 hundred is the preferred depth range when targeting Sailfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Cobia, Blackfin Tuna, Amberjack, Snapper and Grouper.
At times Marlin and Tuna are available out in the Gulf Stream. Very often the western edge the "stream" will push right up to the beach, creating a fishing condition that rivals remote tropical locations.
Snapper and Grouper reside over the nearby reefs.
